Jan 24, 2019Oct. 23, 2018Selby Craig “Buck” Joyner, 76, of Wilson, passed away Tuesday. His funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. The Rev. Carroll Bradbury and the Rev. Tony Parrish will officiate.The family will receive friends 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson, and other times at the home.Buck was a member of Owens Chapel Church of Elm City and a graduate of Fike High School. He served his country with the National Guard. After 42 years of dedicated service, he retired from American Tire Distributors. Buck was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend to all who knew him.Buck is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Dolores Corbett Joyner of the home; daughters, Melinda Williford, and husband, Allen and Angie Council, and husband, Jamie, all of Wilson; granddaughter, Jama Flanagan, and husband, Jake, of Farmville; great-grandchildren, Jase and Jessa Flanagan; sisters, May Gardner and Pat Gardner, both of Elm City and Janice Pridgen of Raleigh; special niece, Erika of Wilson; and his special grand-dog, Bandit.He was preceded in death by his parents, William Medie and Maybelle Vick Joyner; sister, Romaine Joyner; and his brothers, Durwood Joyner and Bursie Joyner.Flowers are welcome or please consider memorials in Buck’s memory to Owens Chapel Church, 6204 Webb Lake Road, Elm City, NC 27893.Condolences may be directed to Joyner’s Funeral Home at www.joyners.net. ...
